Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded Human human prostate cancer tissues using S100 A8+A9 antibody with DAB staining. with heat-mediated antigen retrieval using sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) (OM750020) for 2 minutes. Wash the sections with ddH₂O and PBS (OM750003). Block the tissue with 10% non-immune goat serum(OM760028) at room temperature . Incubate the tissue with the primary antibody diluted at a ratio of 1:150 at 4°C overnight. At room temperature, dilute the secondary antibody, Goat Anti-Mouse IgG(H&L)-HRP (OM644366), at a ratio of 1:150 and incubate for one hour. | Gene Summary | The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing 2 EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of a wide range of cells, and involved in the regulation of a number of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes include at least 13 members which are located as a cluster on chromosome 1q21. This protein may function in the inhibition of casein kinase and as a cytokine. Altered expression of this protein is associated with the disease cystic fibrosis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
