Product Profile
Product Name Calretinin antibody (ready-to-use)
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Monoclonal Rabbit Antibody to Human CalretininThis gene encodes an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily. Members of this protein family have six EF-hand domains which bind calcium. This protein plays a role in diverse cellular functions, including message targeting and intracellular calcium buffering. It also functions as a modulator of neuronal excitability, and is a diagnostic marker for some human diseases, including Hirschsprung disease and some cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq]
Immunogen Recombinant full-length mouse calretinin protein.
Key Feature
Clonality Monoclonal
Isotype IgG
Clone Number SP13
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications IHCIHC-P
We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining.:

Target Calretinin
Tissue Specificity This antibody recognizes a 31.5 kD protein named Calretinin. Calretinin is an intracellular calcium-binding protein belonging to the troponin C superfamily characterized by a structural mitif described as the EF-hand domain. The immunohistochemical detection of calretinin in developing cerebellum is restricted to the later stages indicated by weak staining from week 21 of gestation, in Purkinje and basket cells and in neurons of the dentate nucleus. The intensity of staining increases as the cerebellum matures. In tumors, calretinin has been detected in mesotheliomas and some pulmonary adenocarcinomas. This antibody crossreacts with Human, Monkey, Mouse, Rat.
