DAPI Staining Solution is a staining solution suitable for common cell and tissue nucleus staining. DAPI, also known as 2- (4-Amidinophenyl) -6-indolecarbamidine dihydrochloride or DAPI dihydrochloride, has a molecular formula of C16H15N5 · 2HCl and a molecular weight of 350.25. It is a blue fluorescent dye that can penetrate cell membranes. When combined with double stranded DNA, it can produce fluorescence that is more than 20 times stronger than DAPI itself and has high sensitivity. DAPI staining is commonly used for detecting cell apoptosis, and after staining, it is observed under a fluorescence microscope or detected by flow cytometry. DAPI is also commonly used for regular nuclear staining and in certain specific cases for double stranded DNA staining. The maximum excitation wavelength of DAPI is 340nm, and the maximum emission wavelength is 488nm. After binding with double stranded DNA, DAPI has a maximum absorption wavelength of 364nm and a maximum emission wavelength of 454nm. The concentration of this product is 10μg/ml, and it can be diluted to the corresponding concentration for staining according to specific experimental requirements. The recommended working concentration is generally 0.5-10μg/ml.
