Product Profile
Product Name CYP2E1 antibody, C-term
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to CYP2E1 (C-term)This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P45 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P45 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and is induced by ethanol, the diabetic state, and starvation. The enzyme metabolizes both endogenous substrates, such as ethanol, acetone, and acetal, as well as exogenous substrates including benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ethylene glycol, and nitrosamines which are premutagens found in cigarette smoke. Due to its many substrates, this enzyme may be involved in such varied processes as gluconeogenesis, hepatic cirrhosis, diabetes, and cancer. [provided by RefSeq]

Application

Application

Western blot analysis of CYP2E1 Antibody (C-term) in K562 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). CYP2E1 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

Application

CYP2E1 Antibody (C-term) flow cytometry analysis of HepG2 cells (bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram). FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

Application

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue reacted with CYP2E1 Antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
