Product Profile
Product Name EGFR antibody (ready-to-use)
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Monoclonal Rabbit Antibody to Human EGFRThe protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq]
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from C-terminus of human EGFR protein.

Tissue Specificity This antibody recognizes EGFR. EGFR is type I receptor tyrosine kinase with sequence homology to erbB-1, 02, 03, -4. It binds to Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF), Transforming Growth Factor-alpha (TGF-alpha), Heparin-binding EGF (HB-EGF), amphiregulin, betacellulin and epiregulin. EGFR is overexpressed in tumors of breast, brain, bladder, lung, gastric, head, neck, esophagus, cervix, vulva, ovary, and endometrium. It is predominantly present in squamous cell carcinomas. This antibody crossreacts with Human.
Cellular Localization Cytoplasmic
