Rabbit polyclonal to MMP2Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), also called matrixins, belong to a family of proteases that are essential for the breakdown of extracellular matrix (ECM). They are thus important in apoptosis, tumor cell growth, invasion, and metastasis; as well as angiogenesis and wound healing. Most of the MMPs contain common domain structures that include a signal sequence, a propeptide, a catalytic domain, and a hemopexin-like (Hpx) domain. MMP2 and MMP9, the two gelatinases, contain three additional repeats of a fibronectin type II-like domain, enabling them to bind to and break down collagens.

Tested Applications
ELISAIPWB
For ELISA: Use at a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0μg/ml. For IP: Use at a concentration of 3.0 - 5.0 μg/extract from 10^6 cells. For WB: Use at a concentration of 0.5 - 2μg/ml. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher.:
This antibody is specific to MMP2, and does not cross react with MMP1, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10 or 16.
Application
Application
Western blot analysis of human recombinant MMP-2 with Protein band was detected at ~72 kDa (A); the band was blocked by the immunizing peptide (B).
