Product Profile
Product Name p38 MAPK (phospho Thr180/Tyr182) antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description

Rabbit polyclonal antibody to p38 MAPK (phospho Thr180/Tyr182)p38 MAP kinase is the mammalian homologue of the yeast HOG kinase and participates in a cascade controlling cellular responses to cytokines and stress. Like the SAPK/JNK pathway, p38 MAP kinase is activated by a variety of cellular stresses including inflammatory cytokines, UV light and growth factors, etc. Activated p38 MAP kinase has been shown to phosphorylate and activate MAPKAP kinase-2 and to phosphorylate the transcription factors ATF-2 and Max.

Modification p-Thr180/Tyr182
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Isotype IgG
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications IHCIPWB
Western blotting (0.5-4 μg/ml), immunoprecipitation (10-20 mg/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (10-20 μg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes 43 kDa phosphorylated p38 (Thr180/Tyr182) MAP kinase of human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.:

Application

Application

Western blot analysis of extracts from 0.5 hr (Left lane) and 1 hr (Right lane) UV treated 3T3 cells.

WB

Effects of total saponins from Dioscorea nipponica Makino and indomethacin on the protein levels of c-Jun, p-c-Jun, MAPK phosphatase, p-MKP, vascular cell adhesion molecule 1, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 1, peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ, and Adipor2. All the groups were induced with IL-1β (10 µg/L), while both the total saponins from Dioscorea nipponica Makino (100 µg/L) and indomethacin (100 µg/L) groups were incubated for 72 hours.
Application Notes Western blotting (0.5-4 μg/ml), immunoprecipitation (10-20 mg/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (10-20 μg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes 43 kDa phosphorylated p38 (Thr180/Tyr182) MAP kinase of human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.:
