Product Profile
Product Name Galectin-1 Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias GBP, GAL1Galectin-1, 14 kDa laminin-binding protein, Gal-1
Product description The galectins are a family of beta-galactoside-binding proteins implicated in modulating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. Galectin 1 may act as an autocrine negative growth factor that regulates cell proliferation. It also may regulate cell apoptosis and cell differentiation. It binds beta-galactoside, CD45, CD3 and CD4. Galectin 1 inhibits CD45 protein phosphatase activity and therefore the dephosphorylation of Lyn kinase. It is found in cardiac, smooth, and skeletal muscle, neurons, thymus, kidney, placenta and hematopoietic cells.
Immunogen Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hGalectin-1. Human Galectin-1 specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized hGalectin-1 matrix.
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications ELISAWB
ELISA: Indirect: To detect hGalectin-1 by indirect ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hGalectin-1. Sandwich To detect hGalectin-1 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with our biotinylated Anti-Human Galectin-1as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hGalectin-1. Western Blot: To detect hGalectin-1 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hGalectin-1 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.:
