Western blot analysis of extracts from Jurkat cells treated with EGF using Phospho-GR (Ser226) Antibody. The lane on the right is treated with the antigen-specific peptide.
Receptor for glucocorticoids (GC). Has a dual mode of action: as a transcription factor that binds to glucocorticoid response elements (GRE), both for nuclear and mitochondrial DNA, and as a modulator of other transcription factors. Affects inflammatory responses, cellular proliferation and differentiation in target tissues. Could act as a coactivator for STAT5-dependent transcription upon growth hormone (GH) stimulation and could reveal an essential role of hepatic GR in the control of body growth. Involved in chromatin remodeling. Plays a significant role in transactivation.1) Wehmeyer L, Du Toit A, Lang DM, Hapgood JP (2014) J Biol Chem 289, 10235-51
Immunogen
GR (phospho Ser226) antibody was raised against a peptide sequence around phosphorylation site of serine 226 (L-L-S (p)-P-L) derived from Human GR.
