PRKRA contains 3 DRBM (double-stranded RNA-binding) domains. It appears to have a pro-apoptotic function that may be suppressed in the presence of growth factor and activates EIF2AK2 in absence of double stranded RNA (dsRNA).1) Lee, Y., (2006) EMBO J. 25 (3), 522-532.
