SP1 belongs to the Sp1 C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. It contains 3 C2H2-type zinc fingers. SP1 binds to GC box promoters elements and selectively activates mRNA synthesis from genes that contain functional recognition sites. It can interact with G/C-rich motifs from serotonin receptor promoter.1) Yoshimura, M., (2008) Biochem. Biophys. Res. Commun. 369 (3), 939-942.
Immunogen
Antibody produced in rabbits immunized with a synthetic peptide corresponding a region of human SP1.
For short periods of storage (days) store at 4˚C. For longer periods of storage, store SP1 antibody at -20˚C. As with any antibody avoid repeat freeze-thaw cycles.
