As a frequently cited additive for neuronal cell culture, the B-27 supplement is an optimized serum-free additive used to support the low-density or high-density growth as well as the short-term or long-term survival of embryonic, postnatal, and adult hippocampal and other central nervous system (CNS) neurons. The B-27 supplement is provided in a 50X liquid form and is suitable for use in combination with Neurobasal medium or Neurobasal-A medium for neuronal cell culture without the need for an astrocyte feeder layer. The B-27 supplement is applicable to most neuronal cell applications. |
