As an improvement of the commonly used additive for neuronal cell culture, the B-27 supplement (Vitamin A-depleted) is a customized version of the original B-27 supplement with Vitamin A (retinyl acetate) removed. The B-27 supplement (Vitamin A-depleted) is a serum-free additive and is an ideal choice for culturing neural progenitor cells and neural stem cells, whether they are in the form of suspended neurospheres or adherent monolayer cultures, without inducing differentiation. The B-27 supplement (Vitamin A-depleted) is provided in a 50X liquid form and is suitable for use in combination with Neurobasal medium or Neurobasal-A medium for neuronal cell culture without the need for an astrocyte feeder layer. The B-27 supplement (Vitamin A-depleted) is applicable to most neuronal cell applications. |
