Purified rabbit IgG can be used as a reference antigen, standard, blocking agent, or coating protein in various immunoassays such as ELISA, dot immunobinding, Western blotting, immunodiffusion, and immunoelectrophoresis. Other applications include serving as starting materials for the preparation of immunogens and solid-phase immunoadsorbents. Rabbit IgG is utilized to reduce non-specific binding in immunoprecipitation of protein extracts and acts as a control antibody in radioimmunoassays, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemical analyses. Additionally, rabbit IgG is employed as a standard to demonstrate the performance of LC-type (land-contrast) BioCD (protein arrays) and in neutralization tests. |
