Function IL-8 is a chemotactic factor that attracts neutrophils, basophils, and T-cells, but not monocytes. It is also involved in neutrophil activation. It is released from several cell types in response to an inflammatory stimulus. IL-8(6-77) has a 5-10-fold higher activity on neutrophil activation, IL-8(5-77) has increased activity on neutrophil activation and IL-8(7-77) has a higher affinity to receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2 as compared to IL-8(1-77), respectively
Tissue Specificity This IL8 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 70~99 amino acids from the C-terminal region of human IL8.

Western blot analysis of IL8 Antibody (C-term) in MDA-MB468 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). IL8 (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

Application

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma reacted with IL8 Antibody (C-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

Confocal immunofluorescent analysis of IL8 Antibody (C-term) with Hela cell followed by Alexa Fluor搴?488-conjugated goat anti-rabbit lgG (green). DAPI was used to stain the cell nuclear (blue).
