epitope mapping near the N-terminus of USP17L of human origin
Modification Notes
USP17L (Ubiquitin-specific-processing protease 17-like protein 1), also known as USP17L1 or USP17L1P, is a 530 amino acid protein that localizes to the nucleolus and is a member of the USP17 subfamily and the peptidase C19 family of proteins. USP17L functions in cell apoptosis and cleaves ubiquitin fusion protein substrates. USP17L is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 8, which consists of nearly 146 million base pairs, houses more than 800 genes and is associated with a variety of diseases and malignancies. Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Trisomy 8, Pfeiffer syndrome, congenital hypothyroidism, Waardenburg syndrome and some leukemias and lymphomas are thought to occur as a result of defects in specific genes that map to chromosome 8.
