Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias recommended for detection of ZNF514 of human origin by WB, IP and ELISA
Modification Notes Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. ZNF514 (zinc finger protein 514) is a 400 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. Involved in transcriptional regulation, ZNF514 contains seven C2H2-type zinc fingers, a single KRAB domain, and is encoded by a gene that maps to human chromosome 2q11.1. Human chromosome 2 contains 237 million bases, encodes over 1,400 genes and makes up approximately 8% of the human genome. A number of genetic diseases are linked to genes on chromosome 2 including Harlequin icthyosis, sitosterolemia and Alström syndrome.
