epitope corresponding to amino acids 202-297 mapping to an internal region of α2B adrenergic receptor of human origin
Modification Notes
å2-adrenergic receptors are members of the G protein-coupled receptor superfamily. They include three highly homologous subtypes: å2A, å2B, and å2C. These receptors have a critical role in regulating neurotransmitter release from sympathetic nerves and from adrenergic neurons in the central nervous system. åB-adrenergic receptors (a2B-AR) couple to Gi-protein and induce salt-dependent hypertension in response to catecho-lamines. The carboxy-terminal cytoplasmic domain of a2B-AR can associate with proteins, including the guanine nucleotide exchange factor eIF-2B. å2B-AR transcripts are abundant in rat liver and kidney.
