recommended for detection of ZNF16 of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
Modification Notes
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. As a member of the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZNF16 (zinc finger protein 16), also known as KOX9, is a 682 amino acid nuclear protein that contains seventeen C2H2-type zinc fingers through which it is thought to be involved in transcriptional regulation. The gene encoding ZNF16 maps on human chromosome 8 in a region that is frequently found to be homozygously deleted in small-cell lung cancer cell lines.
