recommended for detection of ZNF169 of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
Modification Notes
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and have a wide variety of functions, most of which encompass some form of transcriptional activation or repression. The majority of zinc-finger proteins contain a Krüppel-type DNA binding domain and a KRAB domain, which is thought to interact with KAP1, thereby recruiting histone modifying proteins. As a member of the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, ZNF169 (Zinc finger protein 169) is a 603 amino acid nuclear protein that contains one KRAB domain and thirteen C2H2-type zinc fingers. ZNF169 is highly expressed in kidney and weakly expressed in spleen, liver, small intestine and heart, where it functions as a transcription regulator. The gene encoding ZNF169 maps to a region of human chromosome 9q22, which has been associated with many human diseases such as colon cancer, migraine auras, basal cell carcinoma, Gorlin syndrome and Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma.
