Product Profile
Product Name IFN-α/βRβ Antibody (N-16)
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias epitope mapping within an N-terminal extracellular domain of IFN-α/βRβ of human origin
Modification Notes The type I interferons, IFN-å and IFN-∫, are a group of structurally and functionally related proteins that are induced by either viruses or double-stranded RNA and are defined by their ability to confer an antiviral state in cells. IFN-å and IFN-∫ appear to compete with one another for binding to a common cell surface receptor, while immune IFN (IFN-©) binds to a distinct receptor. This distinct receptor, IFN-åR, is only weakly responsive to type I interferons, in contrast to IFN-å/∫R, which binds to and responds effectively to IFN-∫ and to several of the IFN-å subtypes. IFN-å/∫R is expressed as two alternatively spliced transcripts, designated IFN-å/∫Rå (IFN-å/∫R1) and IFN-å/∫R∫ (IFN-å/∫R2), both of which are involved in signal transduction and ligand binding.
