Product Profile
Product Name ErbB-4 Antibody (C-18) -G
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias epitope mapping at the C-terminus of ErbB-4 of human origin
Modification Notes The EGF receptor family comprises several related receptor tyrosine kinases that are frequently overexpressed in a variety of carcinomas. Members of this receptor family include EGFR (HER1), Neu (ErbB-2, HER2), ErbB-3 (HER3) and ErbB-4 (HER4), which form either homodimers or heterodimers upon ligand binding. The gene encoding ErbB-4 is expressed as a full length protein, which produces a short membrane-anchored cytoplasmic domain fragment and a long ectodomain fragment. The short fragment is heavily tyrosine phosphorylated and possesses tyrosine kinase catalytic activity toward an exogenous substrate. Proteolytic cleavage of ErbB-4 is promoted by the binding of heregulin. ErbB-4 is involved in cell proliferation and differentiation and its expression is highest in breast carcinoma cell lines, normal skeletal muscle, heart, pituitary, brain and cerebellum.

Application

Application

Immunoperoxidase staining of formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded human cervix tissue showing nuclear and cytoplasmic staining of squamous epithelial cells.

Application

Immunoperoxidase staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded human invasive ductal primary mammary carcinoma tissue. Kindly provided by Raffaella Muraro.

Application

Western blot analysis of ErbB receptor expression in NIH/3T3 transfectants expressing between 105-106 molecules/cell of ErbB-2 (A), ErbB-3 (B) and ErbB-4 (C) and in NIH/3T3 (D) whole cell lysate.

Application

Intracellular FCM analysis of fixed and permeabilized control (green line histogram) and ErbB-4 transfected (solid orange histogram) NIH/3T3 cells. Dotted pink histogram represents the isotype control, normal rabbit IgG: .

Application

Intracellular FCM analysis of fixed and permeabilized control (green line histogram) and ErbB-4 transfected (solid orange histogram) NIH/3T3 cells. Dotted pink histogram represents the isotype control, normal goat IgG: .

Application

Western blot analysis of non-transfected (A) and ErbB-4-transfected (B) NIH/3T3 cells.
Application Notes recommended for detection of ErbB-4 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P), FCM and ELISA also reactive with additional species, including equine, canine, bovine, porcine and avian:
