Alternative Names
RGS19 GAIP GNAI3IP Regulator of G-protein signaling 19 G-alpha-interacting protein
Molecular Weight(MW)
24636 Da
Function
Inhibits signal transduction by increasing the GTPase activity of G protein alpha subunits thereby driving them into their inactive GDP-bound form. Binds to G-alpha subfamily 1 members, with the order G(i)a3 > G(i)a1 > G(o)a >> G(z)a/G(i)a2 Activity on G(z)-alpha is inhibited by phosphorylation and palmitoylation of the G-protein
Tissue Specificity
Highest expression in lung. Placenta, liver and heart also express high levels of GAIP

Storage Instructions
For short-term storage, store at 4° C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20ºC or below. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
Storage Buffer
Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide. This antibody is first purified by protein A affinity chromatography. Then, the antibody fraction is peptide affinity purified in a 2-step procedure with peptides. The antibody is eluted with high and low pH buffers and neutralized immediately, followed by dialysis against PBS.
