Function Plays an important role in caveolae formation and organization. Required for the sequestration of mobile caveolin into immobile caveolae. Termination of transcription by RNA polymerase I involves pausing of transcription by TTF1, and the dissociation of the transcription complex, releasing pre-rRNA and RNA polymerase I from the template. PTRF is required for dissociation of the ternary transcription complex
Tissue Specificity This PTRF antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 1~30 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human PTRF.
Cellular Localization Membrane, caveola. Cell membrane. Microsome. Endoplasmic reticulum. Cytoplasm, cytosol. Mitochondrion. Nucleus Note=Found at the surface of the caveolae. Also found in the plasma membrane, microsomal and cytosolic fractions and at a low level in the mitochondrial and nuclear fractions. Translocates to the cytoplasm from the caveolae upon insulin stimulation. CAV1 is necessary to recruit it to the cell membrane (By similarity). Co- localizes with CAV1 in lipid rafts in adipocytes

Application

Application

Western blot analysis of anti-PTRF Antibody (N-term) in A375 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). PTRF(arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

Application

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human lung carcinoma tissue reacted with PTRF antibody (N-term) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.
Application Notes WB:1:50~100 IHC
