This receptor also plays a role in cognitive and behavioral function. Two variants are produced by alternative splicing. Alpha 2c-Adrenoceptor has been reported extensively in the brain. Blood, corpus cavermosum, kidney, and heart tissues have also been reported to express ADRA2C. ESTs have been isolated from heart and placenta, as well as mixed heart/melanocyte/uterus libraries. |
