Product Profile
Product Name alpha Catenin antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to alpha CateninThe catenins (alpha, beta and gamma) are ubiquitously expressed, cytoplasmic proteins that associate with E cadherin. Alpha catenin can also bind P cadherin and N cadherin. Alpha Catenin exhibits both actin binding and bundling activities. Cadherin / catenin complexes are linked to the cytoskeleton via a direct association between alpha actinin and alpha Catenin. Increased tyrosine phosphorylation can disrupt catenin cadherin complexes, influencing cellular adhesion.
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the C-terminus of human alpha catenin protein.
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Isotype IgG
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications ICC/IFIHC-PIPWB
For IP: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For IF: Use at an assay dependent dilution. For WB: Use at a concentration of 5-10μg/ml for 2hrs at RT. This antibody detects a band of ~ 102 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of alpha Catenin. IHC-P: Use at a concentration of 2.5-5μg/ml for 2hrs at RT. Staining of formalin fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0, for 10-20 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 mins. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.:
