Product Profile
Product Name APP (phospho Thr743) antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to APP (phospho Thr743)This gene encodes a cell surface receptor and transmembrane precursor protein that is cleaved by secretases to form a number of peptides. Some of these peptides are secreted and can bind to the acetyltransferase complex APBB1/TIP60 to promote transcriptional activation, while others form the protein basis of the amyloid plaques found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer disease. In addition, two of the peptides are antimicrobial peptides, having been shown to have bacteriocidal and antifungal activities. Mutations in this gene have been implicated in autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease and cerebroarterial amyloidosis (cerebral amyloid angiopathy). Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Aug 2014]

Tissue Specificity Recognizes endogenous levels of Beta Amyloid (pT743) protein.
Application

Application

Western blot analysis of Beta Amyloid (pT743) expression in MCF7 colchicine-treated (A); mouse liver (B); PC12 (C) whole cell lysates.

Application

Immunohistochemical analysis of Beta Amyloid (pT743) staining in human breast cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.
