Mouse monoclonal antibody [MEM-61] to CD9CD9 antigen is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of developing B lymphocytes, platelets, monocytes, eosinophils, basophil, stimulated T lymphocytes and by neurons and glial cells in the peripheral nervous system. It belongs to a family of membrane proteins termed tetraspanins which transverse the membrane four times. In pre B cells and platelets, CD9 antigen regulates cell activation and aggregation possibly through an association with the integrin CD41 / CD61 (GPIIb / GPIIIa). It also regulates cell motility in a variety of cell lines, and appears to be an important regulator of Schwann cell behaviour in peripheral nerve.

Tested Applications
FACSIHC-PWBFunctional Assay
For FACS: Use at an assay dependent diluiton. For FuncS: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Induces FcgR-dependent platelet activation (aggregation). For WB: Use at a concentration of 2-4 μg/ml under non-reducing conditions. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the researcher:

Recognizes an epitope on second extracellular domain (EC2) of CD9 antigen, a protein of 24 kDa belonging to tetraspans family (TM4SF).
Application
Application
Surface staining of NALM-6 human pre-B cell leukemia cell line with anti-human CD9: FITC . Total viable cells were used for analysis.
