Product Profile
Product Name Chromogranin A antibody [SP12] (ready-to-use)
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Monoclonal Rabbit Antibody to Human Chromogranin AThe protein encoded by this gene is a member of the chromogranin/secretogranin family of neuroendocrine secretory proteins. It is found in secretory vesicles of neurons and endocrine cells. This gene product is a precursor to three biologically active peptides; vasostatin, pancreastatin, and parastatin. These peptides act as autocrine or paracrine negative modulators of the neuroendocrine system. Other peptides, including chromostatin, beta-granin, WE-14 and GE-25, are also derived from the full-length protein. However, biological activities for these molecules have not been shown. [provided by RefSeq]
Immunogen Recombinant protein encoding human Chromogranin A.
Key Feature
Clonality Monoclonal
Isotype IgG
Clone Number SP12
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications IHCIHC-P
We suggest an incubation period of 30 minutes at room temperature. However, depending upon the fixation conditions and the staining system employed, optimal incubation should be determined by the user. Formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections require high temperature antigen unmasking with 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 prior to immunostaining.
Species Reactivity Human
Concentration 1mg/ml
Target Information
Gene Synonyms P10645, CGA, 1113, CHGA, 118910, Chromogranin A
Target Chromogranin A
Tissue Specificity This antibody recognizes Chromogranin A. Chromogranin A (a protein of 439 amino acid which is encoded on chromosome 14) is present in neuroendocrine cells throughout the body, including the neuroendocrine cells of the large and small intestine, adrenal medulla and pancreatic islets. It is an excellent marker for carcinoid tumors, phenochromocytomas, paragangliomas, and other neuroendocrine tumors. Coexpression of chromogranin A and neuron specific enolase (NSE) is common in neuroendocrine neoplasms. This antibody crossreacts with Human.
Cellular Localization Cytoplasmic
