Mouse monoclonal [maD] to COPBThis gene encodes a protein subunit of the coatomer complex associated with non-clathrin coated vesicles. The coatomer complex, also known as the coat protein complex 1, forms in the cytoplasm and is recruited to the Golgi by activated guanosine triphosphatases. Once at the Golgi membrane, the coatomer complex may assist in the movement of protein and lipid components back to the endoplasmic reticulum. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described. [provided by RefSeq]

Tested Applications
AFICC/IFIHC-FIHC-PWB
AF: Use at an assay dependant dilution. IHC-F: Use at an assay dependant dilution. ICC: Use at an assay dependant dilution. IF: Use at a dilution of 1/80 using methanol/acetone or paraformaldehyde fixation, followed by a permeabilization step. Strong immunofluorescent staining is confined mainly to the central perinuclear area in the cell. IHC: Use at an assay dependant dilution. WB: Use at a dilution of 1/1000. May be used for micro-injection into cells. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.:
Recognises an epitope in the COPB protein (110kD). The antibody stains the periphery of the Golgi complex in immunohistology using cultured cells.
