Product Profile
Product Name HEXA antibody, N-term
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to HEXA (N-term)This gene encodes the alpha subunit of the lysosomal enzyme beta-hexosaminidase that, together with the cofactor GM2 activator protein, catalyzes the degradation of the ganglioside GM2, and other molecules containing terminal N-acetyl hexosamines. Beta-hexosaminidase is composed of two subunits, alpha and beta, which are encoded by separate genes. Both beta-hexosaminidase alpha and beta subunits are members of family 2 of glycosyl hydrolases. Mutations in the alpha or beta subunit genes lead to an accumulation of GM2 ganglioside in neurons and neurodegenerative disorders termed the GM2 gangliosidoses. Alpha subunit gene mutations lead to Tay-Sachs disease (GM2-gangliosidosis type I). [provided by RefSeq]

Application

Application

HEXA Antibody (N-term) flow cytometric analysis of HepG2 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

Application

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human brain tissue reacted with HEXA Antibody (N-term), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.

Application

Western blot analysis of HEXA Antibody (N-term) in HepG2 cell line lysates (35ug/lane). HEXA (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.

Application

Western blot analysis of HEXA Antibody (N-term) in mouse liver tissue lysates (35ug/lane). HEXA (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.
