Product Profile
Product Name Kv1.3 antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit Polyclonal antibody to Kv1.3Potassium channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shaker-related subfamily. This member contains six membrane-spanning domains with a shaker-type repeat in the fourth segment. It belongs to the delayed rectifier class, members of which allow nerve cells to efficiently repolarize following an action potential. It plays an essential role in T-cell proliferation and activation. This gene appears to be intronless and it is clustered together with KCNA2 and KCNA10 genes on chromosome 1
Immunogen Peptide KDYPASTSQDSFEA(C), corresponding to amino acid residues 263-276 of human Kv1.3. (accession number P22001). Extracellular loop between domains S1 and S2.

Application

Application

Anti-KV1.3_(extracellular) - Western blot analysis of rat brain membranes: 1. Anti-Kv1.3 (extracellular) antibody, (1:500). 2. Anti-Kv1.3 (extracellular) antibody, preincubated with the control peptide antigen.

Application

Anti-KV1.3_(extracellular) - Western blot analysis of human Jurkat T cells: 1. Anti-KV1.3 (extracellular) antibody, (1:200) 2. Anti-KV1.3 (extracellular) antibody, preincubated with the control peptide antigen.

Application

Anti-KV1.3_(extracellular) - Expression of KV1.3 in HEK 293 transfected cells Immunocytochemical staining of live intact HEK 293 cells transfected with rat KV1.3 (panels A and C) or with empty vector (panels B and D) using Anti-KV1.3 (extracellular) antibody, (1:50). Staining (green) shows expression of KV1.3 in the transfected cells (A) but not in the cells transfected with empty vector (B). Panels C and D show the corresponding live image of the cells.

Application

Anti-KV1.3_(extracellular) - Indirect flow cytometry analysis of live intact human T cell leukemia (Jurkat) cell line: Black: Cells + goat-anti-rabbit-PE. Green: Cells + Anti-Kv1.3 (extracellular) antibody, (1:25) + goat-anti-rabbit-PE.
