Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1/40. Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. Antigen retrieval is not essential, although may be beneficial. In normal adults, this antibody shows intense and uniform reactivity with the mesothelia of the peritoneal, pleural and pericardial cavities, while demonstrating a highly restricted staining pattern in other normal tissues. Strong and homogeneous staining is seen in epithelial-type as well as in mixed-typed malignant mesotheliomas. Lung adenocarcinomas, displaying varying degrees of differentiation, consistently stain negative. The restricted distribution of the CAK1 antigen makes this antibody a potentially versatile reagent for the distinction of epithelial malignant mesothelioma from lung adenocarcinoma in tissue specimens and / or effusion cytological specimens. |
