Mouse monoclonal [SL3.01] to MMP11Stromelysin, a member of the matrix metalloproteinase family, demonstrates wide substrate specificity with the ability to degrade proteoglycan, fibronectin, laminin, casein, and the nonhelical region of collagen. The stromelysin 3 (MMP 11) gene was originally identified on the basis that it is expressed specifically in stromal cells surrounding invasive breast carcinomas. MMP 11 is localized by in situ hybridization to the long arm of chromosome 22. The MMP 11 expression is found more specifically in malignant tumors than in benign ones. |
