Product Profile
Product Name Neurokinin 1 Receptor antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to Neurokinin 1 ReceptorThe tachykinins belong to an evolutionary conserved family of peptide neurotransmitters that share the c-terminal sequence Phe-X-Gly-Leu-Met-NH2 and have an established role in neurotransmission. The mammalian tachykinins include substance P, neurokinin A (NKA) and neurokinin B (NKB) which exert their effects by binding to specific receptors. Tachykinin peptides are important in the mediation of many physiological and pathological processes including inflammation, pain, migraine headache and allergy induced asthma. Three tachykinin receptor types have been characterized, NK-1, NK-2 and NK-3 which have preferential affinities for SP, NKA and NKB respectively. All three receptors share a high degree of sequence homology, have seven transmembrane spanning domains and similar signal transduction mechanisms (e.g. G-protein coupled activation of phospholipase C).
Immunogen Was raised against a synthetic peptide at the c-terminus of rat NK-1 conjugated to bovine thyroglobulin.
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications ICC/IFIHCIHC-FIHC-PWB
We recommend the following starting dilutions: For WB: Use at a dilution of 1:100-1:2000. For ICC/IF: Use at a dilution of 1:50. For IHC-Fr: Use at a dilution of 1:1000. For IHC-P: Use at an assay dependent dilution. Optimal dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.:
Species Reactivity HumanMouseRatGuinea Pig
Concentration 1mg/ml
Purification Affinity purified
Target Information
Gene Synonyms Tac1r
Target NK1 receptor
Tissue Specificity is specific to the NK-1 receptor. Staining of cells transfected with NK-1 was abolished by preabsorption of the antisera with NK-1. Specificity was also verified by the localization of immunohistochemical staining with this in neurons in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord and to neurons and muscle cells in the ileum which are known to express high levels of NK-1.
Cellular Localization Plasma membrane
