Product Profile
Product Name pan-HP1 antibody - ChIP grade
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal antibody to HP1 alpha, HP1 beta and HP1 gammaThis gene encodes a highly conserved nonhistone protein, which is a member of the heterochromatin protein family. The protein is enriched in the heterochromatin and associated with centromeres. The protein has a single N-terminal chromodomain which can bind to histone proteins via methylated lysine residues, and a C-terminal chromo shadow-domain (CSD) which is responsible for the homodimerization and interaction with a number of chromatin-associated nonhistone proteins. The encoded product is involved in the formation of functional kinetochore through interaction with essential kinetochore proteins. The gene has a pseudogene located on chromosome 3. Multiple alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Application

Application

ChIP was performed with NIH3T3 extracts and 4 μg of pan-HP1 antibody. The precipitated DNA was detected by PCR with primers targeting to the rDNA promoter and a subtelomeric sequence of chromosome 19.

Application

WB analysis of nuclear extracts from HeLa cells (20 μg) using pan-HP1 antibody at a dilution of 1:1,000 in TBS-Tween containing 5% skimmed milk.

Application

ICC/IF analysis of HeLa cells using pan-HP1 antibody (green) and DAPI (blue). Cells were fixed with 4% formaldehyde for 10’ and blocked with PBS/TX-100 containing 5% normal goat serum and 1% BSA. The cells were immunofluorescently labelled with pan-HP antibody at a dilution of 1:500.
Application Notes Western blotting (1:1,000):
