Product Profile
Product Name Parkin antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to ParkinParkinson's disease is a common neurodegenerative disease with complex clinical features. Mutations in the gene, Parkin (PARK2), appear to be responsible for the pathogenesis of autosomal recessive juvenile Parkinsonism. Parkin plays a role in the ubiquitin-mediated proteolytic pathway by removal and/or detoxification of abnormally folded or damaged protein. Loss of this ubiquitin ligase activity appears to be the mechanism underlying pathogenesis of Parkin. Parkin may protect neurons against alpha synuclein toxicity, proteasomal dysfunction, gpr37 accumulation, and kainate-induced excitotoxicity. It may play a role in controlling neurotransmitter trafficking at the presynaptic terminal and in calcium-dependent exocytosis. Parkin also regulates cyclin e during neuronal apoptosis and may represent a tumor suppressor gene.

Application

Application

The Parkin antibody was tested to detect Parkin levels in stable Hek cells expressing Parkin. Antibody dilutions: 1:250 and 1:1000 Hek cell lysate used: 50ug (lanes 1 &4); 100 ug (lanes 2&5); 200ug (lanes 3&6).

Application

The Parkin antibody was tested to pulldown enodgenously expressed Parkin in HIT-T15 cells (Lane 1, HIT-T15 cells; Lane 2, negative control) and transiently transfected Parkin in Hek cells (Lane 2, Hek cells; Lane 4 negative control). Amount of antibody used: 4ug Lysate of cells used: 1000ug
