Product Profile
Product Name PIP5K2 alpha antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description Rabbit polyclonal to PIP5K2 alphaProtein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the g phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. By this basic mechanism, protein kinases mediate most of the signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating cellular metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement and cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation. With more than 500 gene products, the protein kinase family is one of the largest families of proteins in eukaryotes. The family has been classified in 8 major groups based on sequence comparison of their tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase catalytic domains. Phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate, the precursor to second messengers of the phosphoinositide signal transduction pathways, is thought to be involved in the regulation of secretion, cell proliferation, differentiation, and motility. The protein encoded by this gene is one of a family of enzymes capable of catalyzing the phosphorylation of phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate on the fifth hydroxyl of the myo-inositol ring to form phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate. The amino acid sequence of this enzyme does not show homology to other kinases, but the recombinant protein does exhibit kinase activity. This gene is a member of the phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase family.
Immunogen Synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH, corresponding to amino acids 318-335 of Human PIP5K2 A.

Target PIP5K2 alpha
Application

Application

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with the primary PIP5K2A Antibody (C-term) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry. BC = breast carcinoma

Application

Western blot analysis of anti-PIP5K2A Pab in HL60 cell lysate. PIP5K2A (arrow) was detected using purified Pab. Secondary HRP-anti-rabbit was used for signal visualization with chemiluminescence.
Application Notes ELISA: Use at a dilution of 1/1000. WB: Use at a dilution of 1/100 - 1/500. Detects a band of approximately 46 kDa (predicted molecular weight: 48 kDa). Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.
