Product Profile
Product Name BMP-2 Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias BDA2, BMP2A, Bone morphogenetic protein 2, Bone morphogenetic protein 2A, BMP-2
Product description BMPs (bone morphogenetic proteins) belong to the TGF beta superfamily of structurally related signaling proteins. Members of this superfamily are widely represented throughout the animal kingdom and have been implicated in a variety of developmental processes. Proteins of the TGF beta superfamily are disulfide-linked dimers composed of two 12-15 kDa polypeptide chains. As implied by their name, BMPs initiate, promote and regulate bone development, growth, remodeling and repair.
Immunogen Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant hBMP-2 (human BMP-2).
Modification Acetylated
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Isotype Cocktail
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications ELISAIHCWB
ELISA: To detect hBMP-2 by direct ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of at least 0.5 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBMP-2. Western Blot: To detect hBMP-2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1 - 0.2 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hBMP-2 is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.:

Application

Application

This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of human colon/rectum adenocarcinoma. The recommended concentration is 0.25 ug/ml with an overnight incubation at 4˚C. An HRP-labeled polymer detection system was used with a DAB chromogen. Heat induced antigen retrieval with a pH 6.0 sodium citrate buffer is recommended. Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.

Application

To detect hBMP-2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with ProSci’s Biotinylated Anti-Human BMP-2 (XP-5111Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hBMP-2.
