The 2H7 monoclonal antibody specifically reacts with human CD20, a 33-37kDA B-lymphocyte surface molecule. CD20 is an unglycosylated four-transmembrane phosphoprotein expressed by B cells in all stage of development, except the final plasma cells. It has been reported that the molecule is involved in B cell activation and has also been observed on a subset of circulating T lymphocytes.1) Leucocyte typing IV: white cell differentiation antigens.
