Product Profile
Product Name EGF Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias Pro-epidermal growth factorEGF
Product description Epidermal growth factor (EGF) has a profound effect on the differentiation of specific cells in vivo and is a potent mitogenic factor for a variety of cultured cells. The EGF precursor is believed to exist as a membrane-bound molecule which is proteolytically cleaved to generate the 53-amino acid peptide hormone that stimulates cells to divide. EGF exerts its actions by binding to the EGFR, a 170 kDa protein. Epidermal growth factor is also a key growth factor regulating cell survival. Through its binding to cell surface receptors, EGF activates an extensive network of signal transduction pathways that include activation of the PI3K/AKT, RAS/ERK and JAK/STAT pathways
Immunogen Produced from sera of rabbits pre-immunized with highly pure (>98%) recombinant Rat EGF (Rat Epidermal Growth Factor). Rat EGF specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing immobilized Rat EGF matrix.
Key Feature
Clonality Polyclonal
Host Species Rabbit
Tested Applications ELISANeutWB
Neutralization: To yield one-half maximal inhibition [ND50] of the biological activity of Rat EGF (0.1 ng/mL), a concentration of ELISA: Indirect: To detect Rat EGF by indirect ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF. Sandwich To detect Rat EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100 μL/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 μg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with our biotinylated Anti-Rat EGF as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF. Western Blot: To detect Rat EGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.5 - 1.0 μg/mL. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat EGF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.:

Application

Application

This antibody stained colchicine injected rat brain (mammillary nuclei) tissue. The primary antibody was incubated at 1.0 ug/ml overnight at 4˚C. This was followed by a peroxidase conjugated secondary antibody and then a fluorescein Tyramide Signal Amplification (TSA) reagent. Optimal concentrations and conditions may vary.

Application

To detect Rat EGF by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.5 - 1.0 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant Rat EGF is 1.5 - 3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Application

To detect Rat EGF by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 ug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with ProSci’s Biotinylated Anti-Rat EGF (38-211) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant Rat EGF.
