Product Profile
Product Name FADS2 Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Product description The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the fatty acid desaturase (FADS) gene family. Desaturase enzymes regulate unsaturation of fatty acids through the introduction of double bonds between defined carbons of the fatty acyl chain. FADS family members are considered fusion products composed of an N-terminal cytochrome b5-like domain and a C-terminal multiple membrane-spanning desaturase portion, both of which are characterized by conserved histidine motifs. This gene is clustered with family members FADS1 and FADS2 at 11q12-q13.1; this cluster is thought to have arisen evolutionarily from gene duplication based on its similar exon/intron organization.1) Bailey, S.D., et al. Diabetes Care 33(10):2250-2253(2010)
Immunogen This FADS2 antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 79-108 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human FADS2.

Application

Application

FADS2 Antibody immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human liver tissue followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining.

Application

Flow cytometric analysis of K562 cells (right histogram) compared to a negative control cell (left histogram).FITC-conjugated donkey-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.

Application

Western blot analysis in HepG2 cell line lysates (35ug/lane).

Application

Fluorescent image of A549 cell stained with FADS2 Antibody (N-term). A549 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with FADS2 primary antibody (1:25). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor 555 (red) conjugated Phalloidi
