Product Profile
Product Name HARS Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias Histidine--tRNA ligase, cytoplasmic, Histidyl-tRNA synthetase, HisRS, HARS, HRS
Product description Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are a class of enzymes that charge tRNAs with their cognate amino acids. HARS is a cytoplasmic enzyme which belongs to the class II family of aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases. This enzyme is responsible for the synthesis of histidyl-transfer RNA, which is essential for the incorporation of histidine into proteins. The protein is a frequent target of autoantibodies in the human autoimmune disease polymyositis/dermatomyositis.1) Levine,S.M., Arthritis Rheum. 56 (8), 2729-2739 (2007)
Immunogen This HARS antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide between 49-78 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human HARS.
