Product Profile
Product Name MRPL28 Antibody
Antibody Type Primary Antibodies
Antigen Alias 39S ribosomal protein L28, mitochondrial, L28mt, MRP-L28, Melanoma antigen p15, Melanoma-associated antigen recognized by T-lymphocytes, MRPL28, MAAT1
Product description Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein, a part of which was originally isolated by its ability to recognize tyrosinase in an HLA-A24-restricted fashion.1) Lamesch, P., et al. Application

Western Blot at 1:1000 dilution Lane 1: A549 whole cell lysate Lane 2: HepG2 whole cell lysate Lysates/proteins at 20 ug per lane.

Application

Fluorescent confocal image of A431 cell stained with MRPL28 Antibody (N-term).A431 cells were fixed with 4% PFA (20 min), permeabilized with Triton X-100 (0.1%, 10 min), then incubated with MRPL28 primary antibody (1:25). For secondary antibody, Alexa Fluor 488 conjugated donkey anti-rabbit antibody (green) was used (1:400).Cytoplasmic actin was counterstained with Alexa Fluor 555 (red) conjugated
