RNF217 is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase which accepts ubiquitin from E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes in the form of a thioester and then directly transfers the ubiquitin to targeted substrates.1) Mungall, A.J., (2003) Nature 425 (6960), 805-811.
