Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified, but their biological validity has not been determined. Three related pseudogenes are located within the Smith-Magenis syndrome region on chromosome 17.1) Iakhiaeva, E., (2006) Protein Sci. 15 (6), 1290-1302.
