Antigen Alias Orexin Receptor 1 and 2 Orexin receptor 1 + 2 Orexin Receptor 2 HCRTR 1 HCRTR1 Hypocretin receptor type 1 Orexin receptor type 1 Ox-1-R Ox1-R Ox1r OX1R_HUMAN Hcrtr2 Hypocretin (orexin) receptor 2 Hypocretin receptor 2 Hypocretin receptor type 2 Orexin receptor 2 Orexin receptor type 2 Ox-2-R Ox2-R Ox2r OX2R_HUMAN.
Product description The protein encoded by this gene is a G-protein coupled receptor involved in the regulation of feeding behavior. The encoded protein binds the hypothalamic neuropeptides orexin A and orexin B. A related gene (HCRTR1) encodes a G-protein coupled receptor that selectively binds orexin A. Moderately selective excitatory receptor for orexin-A and, with a lower affinity, for orexin-B neuropeptide. Seems to be exclusively coupled to the G(q) subclass of heteromeric G proteins, which activates the phospholipase C mediated signaling cascade.
