Gene Full Name OPA1 mitochondrial dynamin like GTPase
Gene Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a nuclear-encoded mitochondrial protein with similarity to dynamin-related GTPases. The encoded protein localizes to the inner mitochondrial membrane and helps regulate mitochondrial stability and energy output. This protein also sequesters cytochrome c. Mutations in this gene have been associated with optic atrophy type 1, which is a dominantly inherited optic neuropathy resulting in progressive loss of visual acuity, leading in many cases to legal blindness. Application

WB

WB analysis using OPA1 Monoclonal antibody. Various lysates were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with OPA1 antibody at dilution of 1:1000 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours.

WB

WB analysis of HEK-293 using OPA1 Monoclonal antibody. WB result of OPA1 antibody (1:1200; incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours) with sh-Control and sh-OPA1 transfected HEK-293 cells.

IHC

IHC staining of mouse brain using OPA1 Monoclonal antibody. Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse brain tissue slide using OPA1 antibody at dilution of 1:800 (under 10x lens). Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 9.0).
