Gene Synonyms SFRS3
SRp20
Gene Full Name serine and arginine rich splicing factor 3
Gene Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine/arginine (SR)-rich family of pre-mRNA splicing factors, which constitute part of the spliceosome. Each of these factors contains an RNA recognition motif (RRM) for binding RNA and an RS domain for binding other proteins. The RS domain is rich in serine and arginine residues and facilitates interaction between different SR splicing factors. In addition to being critical for mRNA splicing, the SR proteins have also been shown to be involved in mRNA export from the nucleus and in translation. Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and the other non-coding, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Application

WB

Western blot analysis of SFRS3 on different lysates with Rabbit anti-SFRS3 antibody at 1/5,000 dilution. Exposure time: 60 seconds; Blocking: 5% NFDM/TBST, 1 hour at room temperature. Primary antibody: 1/5,000 in primary antibody dilution buffer, overnight at 4 ℃. Secondary antibody: Goat anti-Rabbit IgG-HRP, 1/50,000 in 5% NFDM/TBST, 1 hour at room temperature.

IHC

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded rat brain tissue using anti-SFRS3 antibody. The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris-EDTA buffer (pH 8.0-8.4) for 20 minutes. The tissues were blocked in 5% BSA for 30 minutes at room temperature, washed with ddH2O and PBS, and then probed with the antibody at 1/200 dilution, for 30 minutes at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chrogen. Counter stained with hematoxylin and mounted with DPX.

IHC

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded human colon tissue using anti-SFRS3 antibody.

IHC

Immunohistochemical analysis of paraffin-embedded mouse testis tissue using anti-SFRS3 antibody.

ICC/IF

Immunocytochemistry analysis of A431 cells labeling SFRS3 with Rabbit anti-SFRS3 antibody at 1/50 dilution. Cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde for 15 minutes at room temperature, permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in PBS for 15 minutes at room temperature, then blocked with 1% BSA in 10% negative goat serum for 1 hour at room temperature. Cells were then incubated with Rabbit anti-SFRS3 antibody at 1/50 dilution in 1% BSA in PBST overnight at 4 ℃. Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (488) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the secondary antibody only control. Nuclear DNA was labelled in blue with DAPI. Beta tubulin (red) was stained at 1/100 dilution overnight at +4℃. Goat Anti-Mouse IgG H&L (594) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution.
