Mouse monoclonal [AR 441] to Androgen ReceptorAndrogens have a broad range of effects on the appearance and maintenance of male secondary sexual characteristics. Like other members of the steroid superfamily, the androgen receptor (AR) consists of an amino terminal modulating domain, a central DNA binding domain, a hinge region and a carboxy terminal ligand binding domain
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide: STEDTAEYSPFKGGYTK, corresponding to amino acids 299-315 of Human Androgen Receptor.
Key Feature
Clonality
Monoclonal
Isotype
IgG1
Clone Number
AR 441
Host Species
Mouse
Tested Applications
IHCIHC-FIHC-PWB
Western blot: use at a dilution of 1 / 50 to 1 / 100. Immunohistochemistry: use at a dilution of 1 / 25 - 1 / 50 for 30 - 60 mins at RT(ABC method). Optimal dilutions / concentrations should be determined by the end user. By Western blot, this antibody detects a band of 110 kDa, which corresponds to the predicted molecular weight of Androgen Receptor. For formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections, perform heat mediated antigen retrieval using 10mM citrate buffer pH6.0 before commencing with the IHC staining protocol.
This antibody is specific to a protein of 110 kD, identified as androgen receptor. This antibody reacts with full length androgen receptor and also with the newly described A form of the receptor. This antibody does not cross react with estrogen, progesterone or glucocorticoid receptors.
